Classic Kodachrome Monday #81

Every Monday, I'll be spotlighting a different classic Kodachrome slide that I've picked up, and trying where I can to detail the who, what, when, where, why, and how (much) of the image:

This Week:

What: The Monument

Why: Lots of 1950's style elements in what is otherwise a pretty lifeless looking scene around a very attractive monument.  One wonders how thriving this area really was, or if it was simply taken early in the morning.

When: This dates fro the late 1950's.

Where:  Indianapolis, IN. This shows the Soldiers and Sailors Monument right in the heart of town.  The scene today hasn't changed too drastically - a few buildings in the foreground and background have changed, and the street has a nice brick paving, while the monument looks resplendent.

Who: No one here to be seen.

How (much): A $4.50 single on ebay.
