Classic Kodachrome Monday #56

Every Monday, I'll be spotlighting a different classic Kodachrome slide that I've picked up, and trying where I can to detail the who, what, when, where, why, and how (much) of the image:

This Week:

What: A moment in Time

Why: It's not too often that you can know the precise time when a vintage photo has been taken, but this shot does exactly that! Though the foreground is largely bereft of activity, this is still a great look at an area that has undergone a lot of change in the 60 years since this image was taken.

When: September 18, 1955, at 2:46pm.

Where: Chicago, IL. This looks northward on Michigan Avenue, in an area that has been largely transformed as a visitor focal point for the Windy City.  Though much of the historical architecture remains, there are still plenty of new additions to this scene.

Who: Lots of folks, but all are anonymous.

How (much): Among a batch of glass mounted slides I picked up from ebay for about $8.  Not at all a bad score to say the least!
