When I try to change, for example, from P to Landscape, I can't do so because the little cursor does not appear. All batteries fresh and new, have tried removing and re-inserting them, everything works except the cursor on the lcd screen. Any ideas ?autolycushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07541650785970370331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8422658621671704687.post-40343997294728459152022-04-13T17:22:49.688-04:002022-04-13T17:22:49.688-04:00These are really great and underrated. With the 50 prime attached it would fit in the same sized box as my Olympus OM-4, which is already known as a compact SLR (The Maxxum is actually smaller than the OM across the body, in other dimensions they are practically the same). It also weighs 5oz less than the OM. It's easy to throw a wrist strap on for a stroll or to forget about it around your neck with a regular strap. This is the first camera I've been compelled to buy a back-up of. It's so easy to use that it can feel like cheating, or like the point-and-shoot of the SLR world.

I will say a weakness seems to be the battery door. I have one body where the door suddenly broke on me and I had to rig up a small screw to hold it shut. I've also seen several on eBay with broken doors. I do believe that the bottom plates from the Maxxum 3 and 4 will fit, so long as the date feature matches, but I haven't confirmed. That seems like the cheapest way to fix the door without buying a new 5 body.Derekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12471334492925546186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8422658621671704687.post-81127327206310100322021-10-04T11:05:25.344-04:002021-10-04T11:05:25.344-04:00I recently recieved this camera with a Minolta 100...I recently recieved this camera with a Minolta 100-400 lens I purchased for my DSLR. And serioulsy, in the light of this article, I know what this camera is capable of and that it should not be put asside like it has been all these years. I'm really glad I stumbled across this blog.
